Anagrams for MUSICALTHEATER

Thanks to the Internet Anagram Server, I now know that the letters in "Musical Theater" can be rearranged to spell "I'm a teacher slut." Go figure.

Roman Holiday, Philly-style

It's been far too long a wait for readers of the ChazzyBlog who've been itching to see me and the missus on our new scooter. Truth is, we've been too damn busy having fun riding and enjoying our midlife crisis to get organized and take a picture! But today was a perfect early fall day, and we had the foresight to grab the camera before buzzing off to meet Alex for lunch. Our son can't believe his parents' juvenile antics, but still indulged us by snapping this photo so that we could share it with the blogosphere.

In case you've missed the backstory: we sold the beloved Beetle (our "date car") and invested a small part of the proceeds in a Chinese-built People 50 Scooter, purchased from Larry at Philadelphia Scooters on Passyunk - conveniently located just around the corner from our house. No more searching for a parking space! No more whopping car insurance premiums! No more fretting about gas bills (this little sipper burns a gallon a week)! Total time door-to-door to work is ten exhilarating minutes! And we're mastering the art of scooter-shopping, which entails the deft deployment of the bungee net and the willingness to ride with large plastic bags swinging between the driver's legs.

Meanwhile, for those occasions when ONLY a car will do, we've subscribed to PhillyCar Share, where we can rent a Toyota Matrix or Prius by the hour and pick it up from a lot located 10 minutes walk from our house. Which is what we'll do tonight to fetch Kerry from his friend's house in Upper Darby - a trip that would probably take 45 minutes each way on the Piglet.

You Gotta Have Hart

Playbill.com just published an interview with Linda Hart in which she's quoted as saying:

'She positively revels in raunch — and gave it full vent in the Second Stage revival of Gemini, playing Bunny Weinberger, a brazen, cleavage-baring, man-hungry divorcee. The role allowed Hart license to kill, and kill she did. It's her favorite so far, and, as luck would have it, she got to reprise it in a musicalized Gemini that tried out at Philadelphia's Prince Music Theater last fall. The idea of doing this on Broadway has Hart blissed out. "That part was completely a wild woman out of control, and the songs that went with it were brilliantly matched to the pitch of the character. I can't wait to do the part on Broadway."'

Neither can we, Linda - neither can we.

United States of Shame

Strong words from Maureen Dowd of the New York Times. Strong words.
